Jay Swimmers and Divers earn a double win over South Adams

Jay County swimmers delivered a dominant performance Tuesday night in a dual meet against South Adams, earning a convincing team victory. Jay County swept both the girls and boys competitions and finished with a combined team score of 262–95. The girls team was led by multiple event winners, including Brooklynn Byrum, who captured victories in the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle, and Elly Byrum, who won both the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly. Maria Laux added wins in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke, while Kali Wendel earned a strong victory in the 500 freestyle. Lauren Fisher also had a big night with wins in the 100 breaststroke and as part of two winning relays. Jay County swept the girls relays, winning the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and closing the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay. On the boys side, Jay County also controlled the meet, highlighted by Cooper Glentzer winning the 200 IM and 100 freestyle, Peyton Yowell taking first in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, and Carson Westgerdes winning the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Grady Warvel earned a win in the 500 freestyle, while the boys relay teams went undefeated, winning the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay. Jay County divers also had an outstanding showing, with Gillian Keller winning the girls diving event and Bryden Carter taking first place in boys diving. Overall, it was a complete team effort as Jay County swimmers and divers showcased depth, versatility, and strong performances across all events to secure a decisive win over South Adams
