Softball Past Adams Central Varsity vs Adams Central High School (17 - 3) Win Varsity vs Adams Central High School Fourth-Inning Spurt Lead Jay County Patriots Past Adams Central By GameChanger Media Jay County Patriots scored 11 runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Adams Central 17-3 on Thursday. Jaelynn Lykins homered to left field, scoring two runs, Hallie Schwieterman singled, scoring one run, Carley Trinidad doubled, scoring two runs, Brenna Ruble hit a grand slam to center field, and Jozey Shimp homered to left field, scoring two runs. Adams Central got on the board in the top of the first inning after M Peralez singled down the left field line, and Jay County Patriots committed an error, each scoring one run. Jay County Patriots tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a ground out by Lykins, and a single by Shimp. Jay County Patriots captured the lead, 6-2, in the bottom of the second when Morgan Missicano singled, scoring two runs, Lykins doubled, scoring one run, and Shimp singled, scoring one run. Mallory Winner earned the win for Jay County Patriots. The starter allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one. A Jordan took the loss for Adams Central. The pitcher went four innings, giving up 17 runs on 17 hits, striking out three and walking none. Jay County Patriots piled up 17 hits in the game. Lykins drove the middle of the lineup, leading Jay County Patriots with four runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Lykins, Missicano, and Shimp each collected three hits for Jay County Patriots. Winner, Schwieterman, and Ruble each collected multiple hits for Jay County Patriots. Missicano stole three bases. Jay County Patriots stole five bases in the game. B Rinkenerger and Peralez were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Adams Central.
