JC Girls Soccer Ties with Yorktown 1-1

Jay County girls soccer team faced Yorktown tonight, and tied with a score of 1-1. The Lady Patriots move to 8-4-1 for the 2025 season. In the 1st half, Aixa Lopez dribbled the ball on the end-line, passed the ball to the middle to London Lloyd who took a shot, which deflected off of a Yorktown defender. Avery Snow was able to collect herself for a shot after the deflection, resulting in a beautiful goal. Going into halftime, the Lady Patriots were up 1-0. In the 2nd half, the lone goal of the half was by a Yorktown player from a made PK attempt, that resulted from a handball in the box by the Lady Patriots. The Lady Patriots played an amazing game against a skilled Yorktown team, and fought hard until the very end. Next, the Lady Patriots play against Heritage @ Home on Saturday, September 27th @ 3pm, a JV half to follow. After the JV half, the seniors on the Jay County girls soccer team will be recognized: Emma Hatzell, Finley Hatzell, Aixa Lopez, Maleah Parsons, & Raylah Newton. The 4 foreign exchange players will also be recognized: Fatine, Araitz, Anja, & Sonachi. As this is the last season of play for these 9 ladies, please come out and provide the support they deserve! Go Patriots!
